11th Nov 2008, Kuala Lumpur – The celebrated fashion festival, Islamic Fashion Festival (IFF) whose patronage is under Yang Amat Berbahagia Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, is back for its sixth year running.

Scheduled to be hosting a four-day show starting 24 – 27 November at J.W. Marriot, IFF will feature local designers from the likes of Dato’ Bernard Chandran, Dato’ Tom Abang Saufi, Melinda Looi, Michael Ong, Khoon Hooi, Albert King and international designers like Samuel Wattimena, Ghea Panggabean, Sebastian Gunawan and Biyan from Indonesia, Jun Escario from Philippines, Rajesh and Anirban India and Deepak Perwani from Pakistan.

IFF, whose aim is to promote Malaysia as a leading trade hub for Islamic fashion, has vowed to bring the Islamic nations from the neighboring countries closer together and foster an utter ukhwah amongst them.

This fashion festival presents more than just stylish and wearable wardrobe without compromising on modesty requirements of the Muslim dress code and it also invites guests into a spiritual and meaningful affair.

This year, nine different organizations have joined forces to make this show a success. They are National Heart Institution, Tuanku Najihah Foundation, National Cancer Society Malaysia, Persatuan Bencana Alam Negeri Kedah Darul Aman (PBANK), Pertubuhan Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (RACTAR), Pusat Kreatif Kanak-kanak Tuanku Bainun and Lembaga Kebajikan Perempuan Islam Malaysia.

Each organization has adopted a theme to work together with designers to make this fashion festival a charitable one. Part of the proceeds from the show will be channeled to their represented charity organizations.

While presenting the latest trends and creations in Islamic Fashion to an international audience, the KL-Jakarta-Dubai IFF's mission for the ever changing world is to make Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta the Islamic Fashion capitals what Paris-Rome-Milan-New York is to the European Fashion labels.

IFF is happy and proud to independently host and present the sixth ‘Islamic Fashion Festival ’. It will begin with an Islamic Attire Workshop on the 22nd November followed by IFF Fashion Showcases from 24th November to the 27th November 2008. The final presentation will be the Islamic Fashion Bazaar in conjunction with Malaysia Savings Sale at the KL Plaza from the 28th to the 4th December 2008 presented by Kuala Lumpur Tourism Action Council.

IFF VI is made possible with the kind sponsorship if IBEX, JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur, The Zon, Kuala Lumpur Tourism Action, Tourism Malasyia, TV3, Swarovski, Stylo International, Wanita, PAC Martha Tilaar and Andy Ho Haute Coiffure.
